     The original records, from 1843 forward, are held by the New Orleans Archdiocesan Archives, and include baptism, marriage, death, and confirmation records.

Note: The magnificent brick church, completed in 1860, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The earlier frame church, which had been relocated to St. Joseph Cemetery No. 1, was moved again in 1997 to 1516 Jackson Avenue, where it is used as a Chapel.

Clergy who served the church up to 1893 included:
     Peter Tschakert [Chakert or Czackert] (1842); Joseph Kundek (1843-1845); J. M. Masquelet (1845-1847); Peter Tschakert (1847-1848). Numerous other Redemptorist priests served the church over the following years.
