A very well known verse from the Holy Bible is John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Verses 17 to 20 add some reasons
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn
the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one
that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds
should be reproved.
And St Paul helps us in Romans 3:22-28
God makes people right with himself through their faith in Jesus Christ. This is
true for all who believe in Christ, because all people are the same: All have
sinned and are not good enough for God's glory, and all need to be made right
with God by his grace, which is a free gift.
if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
When the people heard this, they felt guilty and asked Peter and the other apostles, "What shall we do?" Peter said to them, "Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself." Book of Acts 2:37-39
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching
the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were
being baptized, men and women alike.
Luke 17:20-21 Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom
of God was coming, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God is not coming
with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it
is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst."
If these words dwelt in your heart then you may feel that this is the time
for a prayer such as the following.
“God, I know I have sinned. I believe Your Son, Jesus
Christ, died to take the punishment for my sin. I believe Jesus came back
to life from death and has the power to forgive my sin and change my life.
Forgive me. Come into my life and change me. I want to live for You and
follow Your plan for my life. I believe You have forgiven me, and I thank
You for hearing my prayer, in Jesus’ name.”
