Samantha Mendenhall - March 28, 2004

Samantha "Sammie" Mendenhall, 86, passed away March 25, 2004.

Samantha was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Bloom, Kan., to Mahala Lydia (nee Hall) and Walter H. Austin.
She married Mark on Nov. 13, 1948, in Johnson, Kan.

Samantha was the first woman pharmacist in Pueblo. She worked at several pharmacies, retiring from St. Mary-Corwin Pharmacy. She loved antiquing and traveling and especially her family, children and extended family.
Viewing, from 3 to 6 p.m. today, at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed at the service. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at First United Methodist Church, 11th and Court streets, with the Rev. Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Lenora "Nonie" Summer - October 22, 2005

Lenora Summer passed away Oct. 21, 2005, in Pueblo. Lenora was born Aug. 28, 1914, in Bloom, Kan., and had lived in Pueblo for nearly 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Summer and Robert Summer; sons, George and Eugene Summer; three brothers and three sisters.
Her survivors include daughters, Billie Verhine and Clyda Lea Gurley; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside funeral service, 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, in the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kan.

Duane Broyles .....1927-2005

Duane Broyles, age 78, a resident of Los Lunas, joined our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Duane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Los Lunas.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an avid woodworker and was well known as a good used car trader. He also loved the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. Duane loved working around the house and he especially looked forward to taking his wife of 60 years, Betty, to dinner two or three times a week.He was in charge of setting up the Barnabas Sunday School outings once a month and always looked forward to seeing everyone. Duane was a true family man and he will be missed by all his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby, in 2001; his parents, Newton and Haley Broyles; and several brothers and sisters.He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Betty; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Gary and his wife, Diana, of Pueblo West, Colo., daughter-in-law, Louise Broyles of Ulysses, Kan., and Denton and his wife, Renee, of Los Lunas; seven grandchildren; 16 grandchildren; and one sister, Lenora Summers, of Pueblo, Colo.A public viewing was held on Friday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church of Los Lunas. A funeral service followed with Pastor Mike Sams officiating. An additional funeral service will take place on Monday, Oct. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, Kan., with the Reverend Dave Kaufman officiating. Jason Broyles
1975-2006

Jason Broyles, age 31, a resident of Ashfork, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, April 26. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Los Lunas.

He attended Los Lunas High School through his junior year and received his diploma, along with an associate's degree, through the United States Navy. Jason served in Desert Storm, Somalia and Bosnia. He later became disabled and retired in Ashfork.

Throughout his military service, Jason received many awards, including two expeditionary medals, Navy and Marine Overseas Ribbons, three good conduct medals, two Navy ribbons, two National Defense service medals and two Navy achievement medals.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duane Broyles; and uncle, Bobby Broyles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gina; daughters, Mikayla and Andie Mae, all of Ashfork, Ariz.; his father and mother, Denton and Renee Broyles, of Los Lunas; a brother, Christopher and wife, Bobby Jo; a sister, Amiee; grandmother, Betty Broyles; grandparents, Henry Lee and Rheavaughan Carnall, of Albuquerque; mother-in-law, Linda Ringler of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Georgia Pass, and her husband, Phillip, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jamie Bujan, and husband. Aaron, of Baltimore, Md.; nieces, Gracie Bujan and Codie Broyles; very special nephew, Brandon Christopher; father-in-law, James Ringler, of Ashland, Ohio; and best friends, Chuck Volkart and Pat Elliott, both of Ashfork, Ariz.

Services will be held on Monday, May 1, at the First Baptist Church of Los Lunas beginning with a final visitation at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral service to follow at 10. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

FARRELL

John Wendell Farrell age 66, resident of Noble Ok., for the past 21 years, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Norman Hospital.

John was born July 20, 1940 at Dewey Oklahoma; son of Oad and Esther �Ma� (Webb) Farrell. John grew up in Nowata and attended school there until he and his mother left for Iowa then California. In March 1958 John enlisted in the United States Air Force in Los Angeles Ca. He retired from the Air force May 31, 1981.

He is survived by his wife Sharlee of the home, one brother Wayne M. (Sleepy) Farrell of Nowata, one sister, Mary L. Branstetter of Muskogee OK and step children, Carolyn Branaman of San Angelo, TX; Bobby & Sherry Haggerton of Brownwood, TX; Billy Haggerton of San Angelo TX; Peggy MacNeil of Tacoma Washington; Gunnery Sgt; Charles MacNeil, Barstow CA; Donald MacNeil, Kansas City MO., and nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren and lots of friends. John married Sharlee (Birge) MacNeil in Cleveland Co OK.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert V., Ralph D., and Leonard E. and one sister Shirley Farrell.

John was also preceded in death by his first wife Janice (Sherrod) Farrell, March 1973 and by his second wife Mary Jean (Anderson) Haggerton Farrell, December 2004.

John loved his family and music and loved life. He taught himself to play the guitar while in his early years while in the Air force and even had his own bands. While in the Air force he had the good fortune to really travel the world. With the knowledge he gained while in the Air force, after retirement, he went to work for Oklahoma University and built their first laser. Then he went back to school and learned to become a printer and worked for the Print Shop in Oklahoma City until he retired. Then the computer age started, and his genealogy work started and his web sites. He has at least 19 websites on the internet. Most recently, he and his wife Sharlee work hours and hours on genealogy, not just for their family, but for people who just asked for help. It was very important to him that he and Sharlee help families find their family.
