Now Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Genesis 21:5

Then his brother emerged, holding on to the heel of Esau; so they named him Jacob.

Genesis 25:26

And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Genesis 32:28

We remember that God changed Abram’s name to Abraham. Genesis 26:5 tells us that Abram did 5 things and as a result God changed his name to Abraham. It is then interesting to note that Abram’s name was spelled originally with only 4 letters. God added one letter so Abraham’s name now contains 5 letters. In the Hebrew each letter is also a number. The letter that God added to Abram’s name was the “he” with is also the number 5.

We know God also changed Sarai’s name to Sarah. Her name was spelled with 3 letters and the last letter in her name was the “yud” which is the number 10. God changed the “yud” and made it a “he” in effect He subtracted 5 from her name.

We note that the four letter name for God in the scriptures that is not pronounced is ,yud, he, vav, he. The yud is 10, the he is 5, the vav is 6 and the he again 5 making a total of 26. So we see that God whose name that is not pronounced is 26. It is then note worthy that this information is found in the 26th chapter of Genesis and the 5th verse or sentence.

So we begin to learn just how important the number are from the scriptures. As we study we shall see even more of the importance of the numbers and how they relate to the information being given.

Above we said that Isaac was the 21st generation since Adam and that Jacob whose name was changed to Israel was the 22nd. It is again note worthy to point out that Israel would speak a language called Hebrew and that this language would have exactly 22 letters.

You will notice that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all have something in common. To each of the three Patriarchs God allowed them to be born in a year that ended in the number “8”. Abraham born in 1948; Isaac born in 2048; and Jacob born in 2108. Eight is a sign of the covenant that God made with them. We recall that they were to be circumcised on the 8th day. We can go back even further and see that God saved exactly 8 souls aboard the Ark. 1 Peter 3:20. We can also see that the lineage coming from Adam comes through Shem who was born in 1558 A.C. and his son Arpachshad was born in 1658 A.C. We can then progress in time and see that the Exodus occurred in the year 2448 A.C. and they entered the land in 2488 A.C. Even in our time God caused Israel’s re-birth to be in the year 1948 A.D. This then paralleled the birthday of the father of the nation, Abraham, who was born in 1948 A.C.

We know that when husband and wife come together they are ONE. So then it does not surprise me to see that Abraham who after his name changed had five letters in his name and Sarah who had 3 letters when added together the two make ONE and that number is 5+3=8.

Now I can assure you this is not a game and that the scriptures are intertwined with these fact to show us the hidden or concealed information within the scriptures. These things can only be seen once a person begins to keep the Commandments of God. The reason for this is written in the Psalm 111:10 where we are told, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
